What our clients say about us…
SIMPLICITY AND EFFICIENCY when we needed it most…
Engineering firm, SCP Consulting Pty Ltd (SCP), had been using Navwealth Accounting services for nine years. Just prior to the Navwealth Bookkeeping launch, SCP’s long-term bookkeeper decided to retire her services. This was at a time when the company was expanding rapidly and as a result experiencing more complex accounting and bookkeeping issues.
Bryan King, Director of Structural Engineering and Company Secretary at SCP described the situation they faced: ‘Once we had a new entity involved, it became more difficult for our bookkeeper who was very busy already and looking to cut her working hours back. We grew very quickly from 14 to 30+ people in our team, which in itself is quite complex.’
As a result, SCP engaged Hayley Kalms, Director of Navwealth Bookkeeping to work alongside Hugo Furzer, Navwealth Business Services Manager and the Navwealth Accounting team to provide full bookkeeping and accounting services.
Bryan described the process as very smooth and he felt that they would receive even greater efficiencies and benefits as time goes on. ‘I am very happy with the current situation as Hayley can work closely with Hugo from the Navwealth Accounting team to ensure things get done quickly and efficiently’.
Whilst Bryan deals with Hayley and the Navwealth Bookkeeping team fairly regularly, they have almost daily contact with other members of the SCP team including Jean Lewis, Financial & Administration Operations Manager.
Jean was asked to describe the major benefit or most noticeable advantage in having Accounting and Bookkeeping working together. ‘I am no longer the middle-man. Hayley can go straight to Hugo for clarification or to work on a task. I am no longer responsible for liaising with the accountant on the bookkeeper’s behalf, eliminating delays and providing less opportunity for mis-communication.’
Hayley agrees that there have been many benefits to working alongside Hugo and his team. ‘We have found ways to better account for SCP’s two subsidiaries and better ways of utilising their loan accounts. I believe that these findings can be attributed to having the bookkeeping and accounting functions working closely together, communicating regularly and being able to easily share information and ideas.’
In addition, by working with Jean from SCP, Hayley has been able to create better reporting methods, which assist with cashflow via more efficient coding of accounts. The greatest benefit of this is providing more usable reports in order for SCP to make financial decisions.
Hayley was asked to describe her experience so far….‘SCP was the first joint client where Navwealth Accounting and Navwealth Bookkeeping worked collaboratively, and it has given us a wonderful start to building a successful working relationship. We have been able to determine how to best use each individual’s skill set to synergise and streamline our accounting and bookkeeping teams, to provide the best results for our clients.’
